My wife and I envision this gift as a way for educators to increase awareness of the unique and challenging difficulties facing adolescents, particularly those in at-risk environments. This gift could provide resources (books, guest speakers, day training, etc) to increase understanding of the mental health issues facing our youth and/or illuminate the increasing prevalence of adolescent depression and suicide among our teens. Resources could highlight support groups and other ways for teens struggling with mental health issues to seek help and assistance.
