Our partnership with Daphne started from a simple email. An email that got to the right person.
Before turning into the self-assured, marvelously expressive artist that she is today, Daphne Willis was studying Secondary Education and English at DePaul University. The Generation Project proved to be the ideal medium to continue pursuing her passion in education while being a full time musician. Daphne is such an enthusiastic individual who is eager to share her story as a musician and a student. After a successful benefit concert and generous donation from Daphne, The Generation Project and Daphne developed a music workshop called "A Day With Daphne" that encompasses the mission and interests of both parties. This event consists of a music workshop taught by Daphne Willisthat is open to undergraduate students who are eager to start their careers in music. The workshop is followed by a concert where Daphne donates 10% of the proceeds for student groups to put towards a gift for The Generation Project. Student groups on campus are encouraged to compete to see who can rally themost student attendance. The student group who brings the most students to the concert gets to design a gift to The Generation Project!
Daphne has given generously to The Generation Project in the past and will continue to do so in the coming year. The partnership will launch in early 2011 and is set to be piloted on various college campuses across the United States. We are incredibly thankful for her support and look forward to empowering students to make a difference with Daphne.
